Global Youth Civic Lab

A space for scholars to promote the meaning and understanding of global civic activities.

The Vision

Citizens engage in civic engagement activities when they seek to promote or remove barriers that adversely affect the well-being of specific individuals or groups of individuals so that all people have equal opportunities. Dr. Nicole Webster's research focuses on elevating the voices and representation of the civic actions, practices, behaviors, and actions of BIPOC young people across the globe.

Our Mission

Dr. Webster and her team use mixed-method approaches to embody the voices and actions of global BIPOC youth to identify the role of culture, history, and indigenous knowledge in civic engagement and social change movements. We strive to examine civic engagement work with an equitable lens and promote its role and impact through an innovative program of culturally responsive research.
